GT1 reshapes rest of 2012 calendar

Slovakia GT1The FIA GT1 World Championship will visit the Slovakia Ring for a second time this season.


A revised second half of the world championship calendar was announced by series boss Stephane Ratel at his traditional press conference ahead of the Spa 24 Hours round of the Blancpain Endurance Series on Friday. The revisions follow the cancellation of the the South Korea round of the series and the two Chinese events scheduled for Beijing Goldenport and Ordos.


The Slovakia Ring, which hosted the fourth round of the series in June, will now also hold the sixth on 17-18 August.


The event at the new Moscow Raceway has been moved forward to 1-2 September from the end of the month. The world championship will then link up with the Blancpain Endurance Series at the Nurburgring on 22-23 September before climaxing at India’s Buddh International Circuit as planned on 1-2 December.
