Williams: Race day turnaround possible
Williams can still make the most of the speed of its car to deliver a strong points finish in the Monaco Grand Prix, despite its disappointing qualifying performance. Maldonado’s confidence not dented
Pastor Maldonado says his terrible Monaco Grand Prix weekend has not dented his confidence even though it was such a contrast to his Spanish GP victory. After giving Williams its first Formula 1 win for nearly eight years at Barcelona, Maldonado was tipped to star in Monte Carlo, where he had excelled throughout his career.

Sebastien Loeb remains in the Acropolis Rally lead despite having to stop and change a puncture on SS20. The Citroen driver's advantage over second-placed team-mate Mikko Hirvonen has come down from 2m01s to 40s with two stages to go. Hamilton frustrated to go backwards
Lewis Hamilton ended the Monaco Grand Prix frustrated with both his start and his pitstop after his third place on the grid became only a fifth position finish. The McLaren driver could not keep up with leaders Mark Webber (Red Bull) and Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) in the first stint, was jumped by Fernando Alonso's Ferrari when both pitted early on, and then found Sebastian Vettel rejoining ahead of him as Red Bull executed an alternative strategy for the world champion.

Sebastien Loeb's Acropolis Rally lead is down to 10.2 seconds as Petter Solberg put on a charge in very wet conditions on Saturday afternoon. Loeb pulls away on Acropolis Rally
Sebastien Loeb is pulling away in the Acropolis Rally lead after Citroen stepped up its pace on the second of Friday's three loops of stages in Greece. The world champion was a close second to team-mate Mikko Hirvonen on SS5, then won SS6, giving him a 10-second outright lead over Jari-Matti Latvala, who was not happy with his Ford's handling on either stage. After his flurry at the end of the first loop, Petter Solberg has fallen back to fourth again, damaging his Ford in an impact with a rock after a crest on stage six.

Rosberg: Mercedes in promising shape
Nico Rosberg is positive about his prospects for the Monaco Grand Prix weekend despite the lack of running in Thursday practice. The Mercedes driver managed just 13 laps in second practice, a session which was hit by rain. Rosberg was sixth quickest in the afternoon, having posted the 10th fastest time in the morning, and the German said it had been a positive start to the weekend.

Jorge Lorenzo admits he is not happy to have qualified on the second row for MotoGP's French Grand Prix, but says victory is still not beyond his reach. Busch fined for pit road incident
Kurt Busch has been fined by NASCAR for a pit road incident last weekend following the conclusion of Saturday's Sprint Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway. The 2004 champion hit the back of Ryan Newman's Stewart Haas Chevy on pit road and crew members from his team and Newman's were later involved in a scuffle.
