Liam Griffin will miss this weekend’s BTCC round at Snetterton after announcing he will take a “short sabbatical” from the championship.
The decision means the Motorbase Performance team will field only two cars in the event for Mat Jackson and Aron Smith.
Griffin is currently in 19th position in the standings with 29 points scored.
He said he is hoping to return to action before the end of the season, but did not specify a date.
“Unfortunately due to unavoidable work and family commitments I’ll be taking a short sabbatical from the BTCC,” said Griffin. “All being well, I hope to be back on track before the end of the season.
“It’s a real shame I’m missing this weekend as I was looking forward to getting another shot of the new 300 layout, but hopefully I’ll be able to make it along at some point over the weekend to cheer the boys on from the pitlane.”
