On Monday we presented this week’s shifter and asked you to identify the make and model of the vehicle from whence it came. The truck-like shifter apparently was a dead giveaway, because the first commenter to correctly identify it as a Hummer H3T’s five-speed unit also was the first to post a comment. That lucky commenter is Vlad, who will receive a Save the Manuals button and sticker as a reward.
The Hummer H3T pictured here is from our first drive in 2008. At the time, we noted that there probably couldn’t be a worse time to launch a Hummer-branded pickup truck, given the nation’s gas-price woes, sinking economy, and the Hummer brand’s own decline. That said, the H3T certainly looked bad-ass, and despite its 22.3-inch wheelbase extension relative to the H3 SUV, it could still billy-goat over rocks as well as anything. Read full story »
